There are really great products from Nair for your upper lip. It's a cream lotion kind of thing that you just put on and leave it on for about five minutes and then wipe it off and there's no hair at all. Completely painless. Also, for really dark hairs, I suggest buying a bleach cream. Also painless and it just makes your hairs lighter.
