Is dutch really that difficult to learn?

Not for an English speaker. Dutch, like English is a Germanic language. The biggest hindrance is that the Dutch hate speaking Dutch to foreigners. They always switch to English. This is reason enough to skip learning this language and choose something more useful (and nicer sounding). Dutch, is one of the ugliest sounding living languages.
